What you need to know
- President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs on U.S. imports sparked threats of retaliation on Thursday, unleashed turbulence across world markets and drew condemnation from other leaders. Included in the tariffs are the uninhabited Heard and McDonald Islands in the Antarctic. Not included in the tariffs is Russia.
