It's Thursday and Cycle To Work Day 🚲
What you need to know
- Trump’s tariffs took effect, just after midnight, potentially upending global trade and prices. More than 90 countries are affected by these tariffs, with some rates quite high, including India, whose rate is currently 39% and is set to be 50% in three weeks. Brazil is at 50%, Canadian imports are at 35%, and Chinese goods are at 30%. Pres. Trump has also said pharmaceutical tariffs could be as high as 250%, and semiconductor computer chips will face 100% tariffs unless companies are manufacturing in the US (like Apple).
