After being fired by Trump in 2019, Bolton has emerged as one of the president’s most vocal critics, regularly speaking on television against Trump’s foreign and domestic policy. The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board writes that "Trump's vendetta campaign" targeted Bolton and that the raid makes it "clearer that second-term success for the President includes retribution."
